Vada's Angels Animal Rescue is a registered charity run by a small team of dedicated volunteers. We are foster based and rely on the generosity of our community to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need across the Bay of Plenty and New Zealand.

🌟 Holly's Happy Ever After 🌟

Some dogs leave a mark on your heart forever, and Holly is definitely one of those dogs. ❤️

Many of you will remember Holly's story.

When she first came to our attention, she had been living with a severely broken back leg that had been left untreated for months. The damage was extensive, the pain must have been unimaginable, and her future was uncertain. Yet despite everything she had endured, Holly greeted the world with a wagging tail, a smile on her face, and a determination to keep going.

Thanks to an incredible pound keeper who refused to look the other way, Holly got her chance.

Then something amazing happened.

Our supporters rallied behind her. Donations poured in. People shared her story. Together, we raised the funds needed for Holly's life-changing amputation surgery and gave her the opportunity she deserved.

The road wasn't completely smooth. Holly faced another hurdle when she developed a significant abscess that required a second surgery. But true to form, she tackled every challenge the same way she always had - with courage, resilience, and an unwavering love for life.

Along the way, Holly was welcomed into an incredible foster home that helped her heal, grow in confidence, and learn what it meant to be loved and safe.

And now...

We're so excited to share that Holly has found her forever family. 🏡❤️

From a dog whose future once looked so uncertain, to a beloved family member with a lifetime of love ahead of her, Holly's journey is everything rescue is about.

Her story is proof that second chances save lives. It shows what can happen when compassionate people come together and refuse to give up on a dog in need.

To everyone who donated, shared her story, cheered her on through surgery and recovery, fostered her, supported her, and believed in her from day one - thank you. You helped change Holly's life forever.

Borris

💙 Foster Fail Success Story - Boris 💙

We absolutely love a foster fail... and Boris was a pretty special one. 🥰

After spending so long surviving on the streets, Boris finally caught a lucky break when he found himself in the care of a wonderful pound that refused to give up on him. They made sure this deserving boy got the chance he'd waited so long for - a chance at a real home.

At 9 years old, Boris found his family. A reminder that it's never too late for a rescue dog to get their happy ending. ❤️

Since then, Boris has been through quite the journey. Eye surgery? Done. Cancerous growths removed? Done. Heart murmur? Apparently not Boris's problem, because he continues to live life as though he's completely invincible. 😂

These days, Boris is living the kind of retirement most dogs could only dream of. He spends his days riding around in the work truck with his humans, making daily stops at the beach for a wander and then heading to the local pub to catch up with all his human friends. 🍻🐾

Despite everything he's been through, Boris remains one of the happiest, most easy-going dogs we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He greets every day with a wagging tail, a smile on his face, and absolutely no intention of slowing down.

Stories like Boris's remind us why rescue matters. Sometimes all a dog needs is someone willing to see past the grey muzzle, the medical notes, or the rough start and recognise the incredible soul underneath.

We're so grateful this wonderful boy found exactly where he was meant to be - and even more grateful that we still get regular Boris cuddles. 🥰

From life on the streets to beach trips, truck rides, pub visits and a family who absolutely adores him - we'd say Boris has more than earned his happy ending. 💙🐾
