Sarge is confident, social and full of personality, with a big love for life, other dogs and keeping his humans on their toes.

He’s a clever, outgoing boy who absolutely thrives on canine company. Playing with other dogs is one of his favourite things, and he’d love a forever home with another friendly dog to wrestle, run around with and hang out beside.

He’s also very comfortable out and about. New environments don’t faze him, loud noises barely register, and he’s friendly and excited when meeting new people.

🏡 Living With Sarge

Sarge is an active dog who needs plenty of exercise, play and mental stimulation.

He walks very well on lead, enjoys long daily outings and travels calmly in the car. He’s also very comfortable in his crate and sleeps there happily.

Sarge can become anxious when left completely alone, which can result in a lot of barking. He wouldn’t suit a home where he’s expected to spend long stretches by himself, and having another dog around for company is important for him.

💜 Sarge’s Perfect Home

Sarge’s ideal home will be active, secure and ready to keep both his body and his brain busy.

Another friendly dog in the home is strongly preferred. He absolutely loves canine company and having a doggy mate would give him someone to play with, keep him occupied and help him settle.

He could also suit a rural property, and he is suitable around both cats and livestock.

Very secure fencing is a must.

Sarge has earned himself quite the reputation as an escape artist, so his future family will need to make sure there are no weak spots, gaps or exciting little opportunities for an unscheduled adventure.

Sarge has made excellent progress and has a really lovely willingness to listen and learn.

He already knows:

His recall is good most of the time in secure areas, and he learns reasonably quickly with play, praise and affection as motivation.

He’s confident, cooperative with handling and generally very keen to engage with his humans.

🐶 Compatibility

Dogs: Absolutely. Sarge is very social and playful, and another friendly dog in his forever home would be ideal.

Children: Suitable for children aged approximately 5+.

Cats: Suitable.

Livestock: Suitable.

🐾 A Few Things to Know

Sarge is high-energy and will need a family prepared to give him plenty of exercise, play and ongoing training.

He still needs support with toilet training and with building independence when left alone.

And then there’s the fencing.

Sarge is smart, determined and apparently quite interested in testing whether boundaries are really boundaries. 😂

If there’s a weak spot, there’s every chance he’ll find it.
