MEET MAYA
Maya is a fun, confident and wonderfully sassy young Rottweiler with plenty of personality.
She's clever, energetic and easy to train when you've got her attention - although in true Rottie fashion, she also has a stubborn streak and isn't afraid to have her own opinion about how things should be done!
Maya is going to grow into a big, powerful girl, so we're looking for someone who understands the breed and knows the importance of putting good training and boundaries in place while she's young.
LIFE WITH MAYA
Maya loves having fun and has plenty of energy to burn. She'll need a family who enjoys getting out and doing things with their dog while also continuing her training and giving that clever brain something to work on.
She's great with other dogs and has also done well around cats. Being a puppy, she can think chasing a cat sounds like a brilliant game, so she'll still need guidance and supervision while she learns appropriate manners.
She's also been good around livestock, making her potentially suitable for a home with other animals with sensible management and introductions.
MAYA'S PERFECT HOME
Maya needs someone who knows and loves Rottweilers - or has solid experience with large, strong breeds.
She's fun, smart and trainable, but she's also going to become a very big dog with plenty of strength behind that sassy personality. Consistent training, clear boundaries, exercise and ongoing socialisation will be important as she grows.
For someone who enjoys the character and confidence that comes with the breed, Maya has the potential to become an incredible companion.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Maya currently has a suspected food allergy, so this will need to be monitored and appropriately managed while we learn more about what works best for her.
She's still a puppy, which means some of her current behaviours - including chasing cats - will need continued training rather than being allowed to become habits.
And don't be fooled by the puppy face.
